Catherine (Julianne Moore) and David Stewart (Liam Neeson) are married, have good jobs, and a 17-year-old son, Michael (Max Thieriot). They live in Canada in Toronto, Ontario. Catherine suspects David is cheating and, as such, hires an escort named Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) to seduce him report back to her with details of what goes on. Through unforeseen events the young call-girl puts the family in danger.
